Alignments, Truck Tires, & Road Force Balancing
A tire that is found to be operating with less than 50% of its maximum pressure is considered to be in an out-of-service condition, putting a truck or tractor-trailer on the side of the road until it can be replaced.
The reason commercial vehicles are sidelined is that under inflated tires experience higher temperatures and greater stress, thus presenting an increased risk of failure.
The dual purpose of proper alignment is to minimize tire wear and to maximize predictable vehicle handling and driver control. Toe misalignment is the number one cause of steer tire irregular wear.
Another pressure-related issue is that of dual-tire imbalance. When you’ve got a pair of tires side-by-side on an axle. An out of balance tire can cause premature tire failure and equipment damage.
We have one of the largest tire inventories around, and top of the line equipment on hand to ensure that our work is always consistent, and meets safety standards and guidelines.
